Anthony has spent the bulk of his 20+-year professional career in San Francisco, gaining exposure to the variety of creative, innovative, and everyday ways that Bay Area business folks engage in commercial transactions. After migrating from his native Southern California upon completing law school, he has cultivated a niche helping these same go-getters achieve their business objectives, serving as outside general counsel for established mom-and-pops, start-ups, and professional providers across a range of industries.
Somewhere along the way, Anthony realized how small San Francisco actually is and began walking or riding public transit to as many local appointments as possible. To this day, this choice of commute allows him to keep current on the SF and broader Bay Area business landscape and commercial trends. Having seen the firsthand effects on business owners of the dot.com bust, financial crisis, and covid shutdowns, Anthony excels at helping navigate unforeseen circumstances, anticipating potential curve balls and crafting considered contingency provisions for his clients.
Just as important to Anthony: the human component. No business deal or contract exists in a vacuum, and the emotional and interpersonal aspects of working with fellow co-owners, family members, trusted (or not) associates will often inform the language of an agreement as much as the dollars and cents. This is what keeps the work interesting – each new client situation is a puzzle to solve, teasing out and then locking in the elements that are essential to the transaction, and to its participants.
When he’s not drafting contract provisions or walking to meetings, you can find Anthony dribbling to the nearby park to get some shots up, experimenting in the kitchen with innovations like savory banana bread (it’s going to catch on!), or spending quality time making garden art in the backyard with an iced drink and some pruning shears.
